To deliver in its core mandate, the department continues to have traditional links with local institutions, where our trainees go for field studies and attachment to apply theory to practice and sharpen their skills in various domains studied. These include, among other private and public institutions: Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD), Regional Centre for Mapping and Remote Sensing, Ramani and Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). Further, the department has bilateral arrangement to host and supervise postgraduate students undertaking their research from Southern Florida University, USA and University of Padova, Italy. In addition, the department has qualified and competent staff specialized in a number of thematic areas in geography as indicated in the table below.
